Trailside Treasures
I was very pleasantly surprised by the flowers that we came across on our travels along the trails of this lovely state park.  The true – xeriscape landscape.  No fuss, no muss, leave it to Nature.
Busy
How lucky was I to be at the right place at the right time to capture this bee as he worked to gather nectar from this pretty bloom?  Altho he works furiously on several of them, when he’s done, they look totally undisturbed.
Tree Bloom
And, here’s the lovely bloom minus the busy bee! I love the soft feel to this image – matches the delicacy of the bloom completely!
Spiderwort
I used to grow these in my garden when I lived in the Midwest, so I’m certain these are spiderworts.  Just as an interesting tidbit of trivia, when a flower or plant contains the syllable “wort” in it, it means it’s repellant to whatever comes before the “wort”.  In this case, spiders do not care for this bloom!
Daisy
I’m guessing this is a variation of a daisy, but I’m not certain.  I just love the detail that I was lucky enough to capture in the stamen from this bloom.  Such small wonders that can be found along the trail.
Spiderworts
These used to be one of my favorite blooms in my garden, so I just had to include a couple of images of them. This one, I processed so that it looks like a watercolor painting.  It seems to be a great subject for that type of painting.
Enjoy!
