Miki – A Day on the Beach – Carrabelle Beach, FL
There aren’t many places where dogs are allowed to run free on beaches in Florida, it seems.  But, Carrabelle Beach has a fabulous long stretch of beach that is a beach where dogs can run free.  In Miki’s case, this meant both a morning and evening of fun!
Beach Romp
It’s fairly early in the morning and Jeff has just turned Miki loose!  She may be almost 10 chronologically, but in spirit, she’s still a puppy!
Miki’s Element
I think I must have said this before in this blog, but I never knew German Shepherds were water dogs.  Maybe they aren’t generally, but Miki doesn’t follow in that mold – she loves to go fetching a stick in the water!
One More Toss
Here’s Miki, seemingly asking her Dad for just one more toss into the water.  She’ll be a bit stiff and sore tomorrow, but she’s loving it right now.  And, her vet has told us it’s ok to give her 1 regular strength buffered aspirin a day when she does get stiff, so we know she won’t be hurting for long.
Miki and the Gull
Ok, so if there’s no stick to chase into the water, Miki likes to run along the shore, chasing gulls.  She’s smart enough to know she won’t catch them, and they seem to realize that, too, so it’s all just good fun!
Enjoy – she is!

Morning and Evening on Carrabelle Beach, FL
For a few days, we stayed at an RV resort in Carrabelle Beach, FL.  We were lucky in that just across the road was a lovely beach that we strolled down each day we were there.  Let’s take a look…..
Down the Coast
The coast and seashore was beautiful here.  It looked this great no matter which way we looked.  In this image, we’re looking at the part of the beach that didn’t allow dogs to run free, so, needless to say, we didn’t walk down this area!
Greenery on the Shore
I was quite surprised at how much greenery I saw poking up out of the sand.  I loved the look of these leaves against the sand and dried grasses (they haven’t greened up yet!).
Sunset on Carrabelle Beach
Here’s a sunset view, looking out almost directly straight on from the path onto the beach.  This was really quite a peaceful beach, and I don’t just mean all the great people we met.  It wasn’t a crowded beach, and the waves were always very gentle.
Just Be
When I looked at this view, and then when processing this image, I just felt so calm as I looked out on this scene.  It’s enough to just want to make me just sit, breathe deep and sigh……
Lift Off
There were some seagulls on the beach at times when we walked, and generally, they were pretty calm, too.  However, when Miki would start chasing them, to play with them (even she knew she couldn’t catch them!), they would take off!
Enjoy!
