Nenana Train Station

While in Nenana, we came across the old train station.  Some of the inside of the station – and even the outside – was somewhat preserved, so I had to capture it in photos.  I treated the photos as colored pencil drawings because that seemed to be in keeping with the era during which this was a bustling place to be!

Here are the old windows where one could purchase fare to ride the train.  The first window is to purchase tickets and the second one was to pay for freight to be taken by train.  Altho the clock between the windows and the phone on the far side of the image weren’t antiques, in this drawing, they certainly fit into the image just fine!

Here’s a close up view of the ticket window.  Can’t you just see the ticket agent with his long sleeve shirt, vest, and spectacles as he probably was behind the counter?

Here’s an outside view of the station with a vintage looking sign indicating Fairbanks was only 59 miles away, while Seward, Alaska, was a whopping 411 miles away!
Enjoy!
